A future upgrade to Ethereum, codenamed 'Glamsterdam,' is being planned to address MEV (Miner Extractable Value) fairness. According to reports, the upgrade is targeted for release in 2026. The full scope of 'Glamsterdam' is still under development. MEV refers to the profit that can be extracted by miners or validators from reordering, including, or excluding transactions within a block. The upgrade aims to create a more equitable distribution of these opportunities within the Ethereum network.
