US DOJ Seizes $580M in Crypto from Alleged Chinese Criminals
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has seized and frozen $580 million in cryptocurrency from individuals described as "Chinese transnational criminals," according to reports. The seizures and freezing of assets occurred over a three-month period. The operation was conducted by the District of Columbia’s Scam Center Strike Force. This task force was established by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro in November. The development highlights ongoing efforts to combat illicit activities involving digital assets and the increasing scrutiny of cryptocurrency transactions by law enforcement agencies.
