XRP ETFs Boom, $15B Payment Layer Key to Adoption: CryptoSlate Analysis

According to CryptoSlate, four XRP spot ETFs in the US now hold $941.7 million in assets as of December 18. These ETFs have grown rapidly since their November launch. However, the report suggests a $15 billion payment layer is more critical for long-term adoption. While ETF exposure has surpassed the $293 million in RLUSD on XRPL, it remains small compared to the $15 billion processed via Ripple's On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) in 2024. RippleNet includes over 300 financial institutions across 55+ countries, with about 40% using XRP for ODL. ODL processed over $15 billion in cross-border payments in 2024, a 32% increase year-over-year, with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for roughly 56% of the volume.
